Details: | SUMMARY: Compliance with Turbidity Alarm/ShutOff DETAILS: The Colton Water District of Manzanita owns and operates a water system which provides water to approximately 1500 people through 450 connections. The District has a surface water source (Jackson Creek). Water is treated through an aging packaged water treatment plant with flocculation, setting tubes and rapid-sand filtration. The District, at the request of DWP, contacted HBH to provide assistance with several items that need to be completed to bring the water system into compliance with the regulations of the State of Oregon. I met with the operator, District Manager and the board president to discuss issues raised by DWP. I toured the water treatment plant and made recommendations to the operator regarding changes that needed to be made to the alarm/plant shut off plan when dealing with high turbidities. In addition, I worked with DWP staff in developing further course of action for the system to meet compliance. ACTION NEEDED: Provide recommendations for delivered water meter. Complete contact tracer study. |
