Details: SUMMARY: Coliform Problem DETAILS: HBH was contacted by Deschutes County Dept of Health regarding positive coliform results in the system. The District serves 240 customers through 82 connections on the western edge of the City of Redmond’s Urban Growth Boundary. The District’s water supply is through two wells that are drilled adjacent to each other. The system has experienced several positive coliform results, including positive repeats. In August 2009, the System experienced a positive FC, along with a positive repeat. The positives have occurred in both the wells and the distribution system. I visited the system and inspected wells and surrounding area. I made on-site recommendations regarding changes that can be made to limit exposure of wells to outside contamination and began preliminary sizing for temporary chlorination. ACTION NEEDED: Assist System with addition pf temporary chlorination and investigate well logs to determine adequacy of well seals.
