| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to tolune detection on 8/4/2010 of 0.0009 mg/L DETAILS: Martin and I spoke about the 8/4/2010 0.0009 mg/L toluene detection (MCL is 1 mg/L), and detection limis 0.0005 mg/L. Martin is not aware of any paiting or coating of the storage tank or other cause of this detect from the system. Martin knows that there is spraying in this area in the summer, and may contact ODF to see if this is a potential source of toluene in the system. I reviewed Source Water Assessment, and see that pesticide application is notes as a potential contaminant source. ACTION NEEDED: Martin to take a toluene confirmation sample, as part of the 1st round of quarterly monitoring during early 4th quarter 2010. DWP to look at average of initial and confirmation and determine compliance with the VOC rule, and need for ongoing quarterly monitoring of toluene. DWP to discuss SWA with DEQ, and provide any additional support to system on determining potential source of toluene. | ||
