| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Jackson Baures: Spoke to Don about positive coliform from outside spigot. He said they have been out of town for over a month. He took the sample from the outside spigot on his house without letting it run very long because it was cold outside. He took six repeat samples only 3 required to Nielsen on 12/6. He said he is concerned because he wiped the outside of the spigots with bleach on a rag prior to sampling. He didnt get bleach inside the spigots and he let them all run for at least one minute. He was concerned with the spigots being contaminated around the threads. I informed him that it would likely be okay because he didnt get bleach inside the taps and he let the water run for more than a minute prior to sampling. In addition, there isnt a positive Ecoli to raise additional concerns. However, I would need to confer with our state coordinator to get his opinion. He understood and would take additional samples if needed. 12/8/11- Mike Obereigner: Spoke with don this morning. He wants to shock chlorinate from the storage tanks forward and will do so today. I emailed him a tier 2 public notice and reminded him of the five temporary routines due in January. ACTION NEEDED: See next alert | ||
