Details: | SUMMARY: Customer inquiry - low chlorine residual DETAILS: Al called our office on 7/30 at 8:30 am. I returned the call at 9:15 a, and he explained City staff detected a 0.1 mg/L chlorine residual at his home, which is at the end of a long dead line section at a blow off point. He asked what the minimum required residual at his service connection should be. I indicated that our regulations require a minimum detectable chlorine residual at all times in the distribution, as well as CT requirements at the treatment plant. I then referred Al to the Citys Dan Foultner, and Al mentioned he would follow up with Dan. I then let Dan know of the phone inquiry and Dan indicated City is aware of the inquiry, would check the residual again today at this connection (7/30) and will flush the line in the area. If residuals do not increase after flushing, City staff would check the plant to see that adequate disinfection CTs are being met. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to support City in resolution of customers inquiry. |
