Details: | SUMMARY: CT Tracer Study DETAILS: The City owns and operates a surface water system that provides treated water for domestic purposes to a full time population of approximately 1,650 people, through 605 connections. The source for the system’s water is an intake on Canyon Creek. The treatment plant is a conventional rapid sand filtration plant with flocculation and sedimentation chambers. The City currently pre-chlorites adding sodium hypochlorite in the flocculation chamber. Following filtration, the additional post chlorination is done to achieve the desired chlorine residual. The City contacted HBH to perform a contact tracer study in 2011. The data collection was completed prior to the end of the previous HBH contact. HBJH reviewed Ct study based on comments from Daniel Hough (DWP) with the intention of looking at elimination of prechlorination. The test was not conclusive as to whether this can be accomplished. ACTION NEEDED: Modify CT Study and possible complete additional study with prechlorination elimination as the goal. |
