Details: | SUMMARY: CT Tracer Study DETAILS: The City of Canyonville owns and operates a surface water system that provides treated water for domestic purposes to a full time population of approximately 1m650 people through 605 connections. The source for the City’s water is an intake on Canyon Creek. The treatment plant is a conventional rapid sand filtration plant with flocculation and sedimentation chambers. The City currently pre-chlorites, adding sodium hypochlorite in the flocculation chamber. Following filtration, the additional post chlorination is done to achieve the desired chlorine residual. The City contacted HBH to perform a contact tracer study in 2011. The data collection was completed prior to the end of the previous Circuit Rider contract. HBH had additional discussions with Daniel Hough regarding the possibility and need for the elimination of prechlorination, as well as the ramifications of this on the existing tracer study results. ACTION NEEDED: Complete additional tracer study with prechlorination elimination as the goal. |
