Details: | SUMMARY: Signs of Algae Bloom persist (~4-7 mi) upstream at Promontory Park DETAILS: Dan Cramer, PGE, is currently monitoring an incipient algae bloom in the North Fork Reservoir, several miles upstream of Estacadas intake. There was a Microcystin detection just above the detection level last week, 0.2 ug/L. The CRW Basin - PGE and the group of WSs with intakes downstream of PGEs North Fork Reservoir - is continuing testing. At this point DWP will suggest and pay for raw water sampling at Estacadas intake. In other news, Estacada has a plan to purchase 6" worth of GAC to place atop their filter beds in case of an emergency harmful algae bloom. ACTION NEEDED: Casey Lyon, de facto DWP HAB expert, will work with CRW Basin to request sampling at Estacadas intake. DWP will pay for sampling. Dave Stone will continue working towards purchasing GAC. |
