Details: | SUMMARY: Localized loss of pos. pressure - tank level malfunction - Boil water DETAILS: Bill notified me at 11 am on 10/3, after not being able to reach Multnomah County, that starting at 630 am on 10/3, TVWD received calls that several users were out of water, due to a malfunction in the level indicator (Scada displayed normal levels, when tank empty). Area of low/no pressure limited to 15 homes in 745 ft pressure zone north of Patton Road. Bill noted tank manually filled, area flushed to restore water quality, residuals and pressures restored to adequate levels and coliform samples collected. Boil water notices issued via door hangers at 1230 pm on 10/3 to 15 homes. TVWD provided map of documented psi readings showing acceptable positive pressures and chlorine residuals immediately outside of affected area. I indicated to Bill that DWS best practices being followed for a localized boil notice, and encouraged coordination with Multnomah County. At 1230 pm I spoke with Gerald Barnes who will follow up with system moving forward. ACTION NEEDED: TVWD to work with Multnomah County to review coliform sample results and confer with County prior to liftting localized boil water notice. DWS to offer support as necessary. |
