| Details: | SUMMARY: Diesel spill near Bull Run DETAILS: Marcia Danab with DEQ called to report a spill that occurred at Headworks in Bull Run in March 2011, but was just discovered 5/16/12 and reported 5/24/12. Diesel was being pumped into a day tank at an emergency generator at a PGE-operated facility at Bull Run. The diesel spilled into a secondary containment, however there was a hole in that containment and 269 gallons of diesel leaked into the ground. Recently, diesel-contaminated water was found by PWB in a vault, which was how the spill was discovered. She didnt know the distance to water or the exact location, but it is "close enough to be concerned." DEQ will be investigating, and will be doing a joint news release with PWB on June 5, 2012. Marcia is the contact person for DEQ, and Carrie Gentry is the contact person if there are any detections at the intake. ACTION NEEDED: DEQ will investigate and update DWP. | ||
