Details: | SUMMARY: Discuss future joint monitoring plan DETAILS: Carrie Gentry and Kari Salis met with Yone Akagi, Scott Bradway, and Kim Gupta from Portland Water Bureau (PWB), and Joel Cary and Bill Richmond from Tualatin Valley WD, and Silas Richardson from Gresham to discuss Portlands proposed modified Joint monitoring plan. Tigard will be leaving the plan since they will no longer be using PWB water. Portland proposed minor adjustments to the sample locations and numbers after Tigard leaves, and changing the timing from May and November to March and September to also capture supplemental sources that various systems use. DWS stated that since TVWD and Lake Grove have significant usage of other sources, treating them as a single system for monitoring purposes is no longer justified. Due to the time involved to identify new sample sites, we agreed keeping the plan the same for the fall 2016 sample round is acceptable, and systems would submit a proposed sampling plan by the end of 2016 to begin the first half of 2017. Water quality parameter sampling must also be done per system and as a group for systems remaining on the joint monitoring plan. ACTION NEEDED: PWB will write up a proposal in the next couple weeks. OHA will send a letter to TVWD and Lake Grove regarding their requirements. Also, water quality parameter minimums for the JMP are known to be too low and need to be increased. OHA will work with PWB on setting new minimums, as well as for supplemental sources on the joint monitoring plan. |
